LeBron James and Tyrese Haliburton talk about the 65-game minimum rule.
LeBron James: The 65-game minimum was implemented primarily to address load management, specifically regarding back-to-back games or late-season absences by star players.
However, players are often literally unable to play due to injury, rather than choosing to sit out national televised games.
Currently, several big names have missed significant time, including Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Victor Wembanyama, Stephen Curry, Kawhi Leonard, Alperen Sengun, Austin Reaves, and Jalen Williams.
This rule raises concerns about how it will impact individual legacies and All-NBA selections; for example, Jokic should still be considered first-team All-NBA even if he were to miss 30 games while averaging roughly 29 points, 13 rebounds, and 14 assists.

โIโm happy I got cut, probably the best thing that could have happened for meโฆso shoutout to Philly.โ (h/t @fullcourtpass)
Itโs baffling how Nick Nurse couldnโt figure out a role for Jared McCain. He already looks just as good with OKC as he did pre-injury. He was in the dog house in Philly and now heโs playing crunch time minutes for the defending champs. Insane!
