@technics You’ve messed up a design classic! No pitch, no strobe, no strobe dots on platter. What are you guys thinking!
When the strobe was changed to blue from red was just liveable.
Guys buy the SL-1200G before stock runs out, it’s an engineering master piece- you can also DJ with 2!
@technics What’s the point of that? Apart from cosmetics, what has changed to the motor, torque- is it technical better than a SL1200G? Has it got faster acceleration to 45rpm or 331/3 rpm, does it have faster braking? #pointless
@michaeljackson Whoever re- mastered this album has screwed it big time. The tracks have been normalised, dynamic range crushed. Levels have been raised as the loudness wars. Find the original 1982 released that was mixed by Bruce Swedien on CD or LP. Or even buy the 24bit 1736kHz. Best sounding!
@BowersWilkins They might be an icon, technology wise they have remained dormant for over 30years? None of the 801D4 current engineering expertise is in this design. Update them and make them the pinnacle, then you can call them a Icon in design and engineering!
@IsoTekSystems Not all mains has noise, if you measure it with a Fluke meter. This will give some indication. It’s all relative.
Plus don’t plug high current power amps into mains conditioners they throttle their dynamics!
@juisu2010@SSVHD@BowersWilkins The 800series are current hungry. Any amp can make them sound. But to get them to play as intended you need good amplification like Gryphon, Naim, Boulder, Luxman. These amps have good power supplies and good reserve of power. To make them rock & roll!
