We read teasers the way we read chains. Notes on the cat, @vladtenev
OK lets go, the video first. 6.82 seconds, one sound effect. A pixel sprite walks in from the left and the word “Loading” resolves letter by letter behind it as it walks, then the cat stops, turns to face the camera, and a single 8-bit chime fires.
But here is the detail most people scrolled past: the sprite is pixel art, but “Loading…” is set in the Robinhood app font, not in a pixel font.
Retro character, product typography. Whatever this is, it ships inside the app. It is likely not a standalone game.
The cat second, look at the torso. That is not a tunic, it is a wooden treasure chest with a gold clasp, drawn as the cat’s belly. A cat carrying cash. Robinhood was nearly named Cash Cat, the mascot was a cat clutching banknotes, and Vlad told everyone himself in April 2021.
This sprite matches neither the memecoin that borrowed the name nor the winking cat that has hidden in the app for years. It's a new, official drawing of the founding mascot, wearing the company costume. That is not a marketing asset, it's lore.
The chain third, because the chain is what we do. This morning we swept Robinhood Chain over raw RPC, mainnet and testnet. Every official deployer is still shipping financial rails and nothing else: the stock token beacon and its proxies, the stablecoin machinery, the sequencer reward distributors. The testnet stock factory’s ops address has been quiet since February.
There is no game contract attributable to Robinhood on chain 4663. What there is instead is a folk scene that got there first: Pixel Cats Hood at 8,800 holders, Kittenhood, MIU PETS, and one anonymous builder who hand-deployed a 53 contract farm game called PixelGardens, funded entirely by their own mint sales.
The community has been drawing cats on these rails all summer. Now the company is drawing one back.
Putting it all together: Robinhood Social goes to everyone by end of quarter. The beta has verified strangers but no friends layer. The company posted “Some things can’t be tokenized. Community is one of them” two days before the tease. The keynote is September 29 in Houston.
Our read is that this is the friends layer for Social, in-app, wearing a retro skin, fronted by the return of Cash Cat. Not a token. Not on the chain. Yet.
One important warning while we are here. Sites are already circulating that dress up as this unannounced product and push executable downloads and airdrop signups. Robinhood has announced nothing! Download nothing!
We build software for tokenised markets, so we will be watching the keynote with the RPC open. If the cat ever touches the chain, you will hear it from us first.
Thanks for reading. Stonks Dev.

@darewoodmusic@Ein_news This is such a powerful and honest expression. ❤️ The vulnerability and emotion really make the song stand out. Beautiful work!
THIS IS WHAT BUILDING APPS LOOKS LIKE NOW
Built a kitchen configurator in Quadcode AI. Couple hours.
The whole point was to make bad orders impossible. Most configurators let you assemble something that can't actually be manufactured — you find out at checkout. So collision detection runs live, snap logic locks to a 300mm grid, BOM updates on every move. By the time you hit order you know exactly what you're getting.
Six modular units, real-time pricing, full 3D inspection before you commit.
Some things worth knowing if you're building something similar:
1) Collision detection belongs in the configurator, not the order validation. If the user can place it, they'll assume it's possible. Fix it upstream.
2) Snap logic needs a hard grid. Freeform placement feels flexible until you get modules that are 2mm off and nothing aligns in production.
3) BOM on every interaction, not on submit. Users make better decisions when they see the price move in real time. Surprises at checkout kill conversions.
4) Fixed modules beat infinite flexibility. Six well-defined units cover more configurations than you'd expect and make collision logic actually manageable.
What would you add to this?
