1. Having choices is a privilege.
[...] Not everybody can afford to have options, especially not with the risks that come with each potential decision. [...]
[...] When we are face with choices, I hope we remember how lucky we are to have a menu to choose from.

An except from Mayor Leni Robredo’s speech in Good Governance Summit: 💖
“Coming into the office, we inherited a constrained budget of just ₱1.8 Billion Pesos with ₱1.1 Billion allocated to salaries alone.
And only about ₱520 Million Pesos remaining for our essential programs after debt and utilities.
When I took office, we were just recovering from Typhoon Kristine’s devastation. Kung ano yung nangyayari ngayon sa Cebu, that is exactly what happened to us in Naga October 22 last year.
We faced double digit poverty and unemployement rates. Our infrastructure and social services need urgent attention.
With such limited resources, every peso lost to corruption is a peso stolen from our people’s future.
✅ This is why integrity is not just a principle. It is an economic imperative.
What defines Naga City is our collective commitment to good governance, a legacy my late husband Jessie Robredo championed when he was still a Mayor of the City.
And he believed that:
Sa Naga, ang pagpipigil lang sa corruption ay magsisimula sa pamahalaang tapat, bukas, at may integridad.”

NAGA CITY STEPS UP DISASTER PREPAREDNESS AHEAD OF INCOMING TYPHOON
The Naga City government has intensified disaster preparedness measures ahead of a typhoon forecast to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday, September 26.
Mayor Leni Robredo convened barangay officials, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) on Monday, September 22, to review readiness plans for the typhoon and the rest of the rainy season.
Robredo directed barangay leaders to prioritize flood-prone areas for mitigation efforts and to coordinate with residents who can temporarily shelter evacuees. She also urged barangays to organize de-clogging teams to clear waterways and reduce flood risks.
CDRRMO Head Raynor Rodriguez reported the ongoing installation of flood warning devices, stressing the need for barangays to educate residents on their purpose to prevent vandalism. Meanwhile, a proposal by City Councilor Ariez Macaraig to construct a flood gate in Barangay Del Rosario received strong support as a long-term flood control measure.
Robredo underscored the importance of proactive disaster management.
"This is a collective effort. We must be proactive, not reactive. Our goal is to prevent loss of life and minimize damage to property," she said.
The city government reaffirmed its commitment to disaster resilience as Naga braces for the incoming typhoon.
Ngayong Sept.
