Quick @Pebble Round 2 update - we’re making progress but not in mass production (MP) yet!

TLDR
- Currently in beta testing (In US? Apply here to join https://t.co/BxJHm75W1z)
- On track to start shipping Pebble Round 2 watches in July
- Current plan is to be finished shipping out all preordered PR2 in September
- Beautiful black or brown leather straps will be available to add

More details
I was in China 2 weeks ago reviewing the latest pre-production samples. I found a cosmetic issue that we needed to fix (an indentation from CNC milling near where the watch lug connects to the watch case - see picture). It was a tough call, because we were so close to starting mass production.
We’re modifying the metal-injection-moulding tooling now to avoid this CNC cut. I really wish we could have started MP sooner, but I guarantee that it will be worth the wait!

Saw some comments flying on r/Pebble about people worried about breaking their new Pebble Time 2. I get it, especially after waiting 1 (or 10) years!

Seven people have reported breaking their PT2 in some way. We’ve replaced each one (for free) as we know how rough this would feel after such a long wait.

PT2 uses the same structural design as Pebble 2 Duo and Pebble 2 (Gorilla front glass, optically bonded to display, raised above the case), which is very similar to how Pixel Watch and Apple Watch raise the front glass above the watch case.

Nothing is invincible, especially electronics worn on the body. If you hit it against a hard surface, it may scratch, crack, dent or break. But if you have had any Pebble in the past, I expect PT2 to be roughly as sturdy.
