all bts said was that they don’t want to submit their work to the grammys this year and at least 4 members of the grammys have gone on coke rants and crashing out about it but kpop fans swear the grammys dgaf about bts
and i really hope y’all stop dressing up like aliens for bts concerts.. idc if hobi posted ppl on his story or if yall found it funny, it’s tone deaf as hell !! specially after seeing how the industry CONTINUES to give bts the “separate but equal” treatment after years.
comparing "asian pop" with jazz or country categories when those are music GENRES and the other one is a geographical label i knew americans weren't the brightest but it will always surprise me
Oh and before all of you other fandoms talk shit and get it twisted, ARIRANG IS the album of the year. SWIM IS the song of the year. And lastly, BTS IS THE ARTIST OF THE YEAR. The numbers don’t fucking lie.
Imagine that at your workplace there was an employee of the month, a black employee of the month, a Latino employee of the month, and an Asian employee of the month... I think that makes more sense now.
btw, los grammys latinos empezaron justo después de que carlos santana un artista mexicano arrasó con todos premios uniéndose al récord de michael jackson con thriller
I don't think people fully understand the magnitude of this decision.
Some of the music industry's most respected producers, writers, engineers, and creatives worked on ARIRANG. A project built to the highest artistic standard. One producer even spoke publicly about hoping the album would receive Grammy recognition.
Then the Recording Academy introduced a category specifically for Asian pop.
And BTS chose not to submit.
Think about that. The biggest musical project of the year. One of the strongest commercial and artistic contenders. A project that could have competed across multiple major categories. It simply won't be in the race because the artists chose principle over prestige.
Moves like this don't happen often. When artists at BTS' level willingly walk away from the biggest stage in music, the conversation shifts because of what they refused to endorse.
