BREAKING: America is getting a new robotic shipyard. HD Hyundai and Kiewit have announced plans to build a highly automated shipyard on an existing industrial site with deepwater access to the Gulf of Mexico (exact location undisclosed).
The shipyard will use robotic welding, digital twins, and automated production systems to build U.S. Navy auxiliary and commercial vessels.
Construction is targeted for 2027, with plans to create up to 3,000 American jobs at full capacity.
I personally find it utterly in incomprehensible that in 2026 the Mayor of New York City is, in no unclear terms, literally publicly counseling folks who are here ILLEGALLY on how to sneak away and avoid the men and women of our law enforcement who are trying to do nothing more than constitutionally remove them.
@tommyborumjokes Ur such a filthy liar moving goalposts. Ur entire argument was Bibi was first to announce Kirk was killed and that this was odd since trump would be in a better position to know due to better intel. Well guess what you lying fraud, trump was the first to announce Charlie’s death
this California wealth tax thing is just incredible.
so in October 2025, a California healthcare union proposed a "one time" 5% tax on any billionaire's wealth. the ballot measure will be voted on next month. In early December 2025, California announced that it would be a retroactive tax if passed, applying to anyone with CA residency as of Jan 1, 2026. The objective is to pay for Medi-Cal, California's incredibly dysfunctional healthcare system. (which also functions as a glorified welfare apparatus, but that's a discussion for another time).
polls reveal that the CA electorate is split around 50/50 on the tax, but prediction markets only give Prop 40 a ~23% chance of passing (there are competing measures on the ballet that would nullify it).
there are 200 billionaires in CA, worth collectively somewhere between $2.3 and $2.6 trillion. 5% of that is around $100b, accounting for a small amount of attrition. proponents of the tax forecasted a significant windfall, assuming only a 10% departure rate.
supporters thought they were being clever with the retroactive concept. no billionares would leave CA in the few short months between the tax being proposed and the residency cutoff date, without the tax even having passed yet, right?
well as it turns out, they did.
a new paper [1] from two academics at Stanford called "The Net Present Value of the California Billionaire Tax Act", argues that not only did more billionaires leave due to the proposed tax than its proponents expected, but that the value of the tax, if it does pass, is actually negative.
proponents of the tax only assumed 10% avoidance, that is, only 10% of the taxable base of targeted billionaires would leave CA within the very short Oct-Dec 2025 window. Jaros and Rauh, the Stanford academics, find that a lower bound of 28.6% of the taxable base managed to leave.
just based on known departures, those departures total $577b in net worth, or $28.8b in potential tax lost. this of course does not capture everyone (many left without announcing their departure), so the authors normalize to departure rates estimated from other wealth tax events, and apply other discounts for litigation, arriving arrive at a figure of only $28-$36b in forecasted tax revenues.
but this isn't all! all of the income taxes paid by the departed billionaires are also forsaken. the authors estimate that CA billionaires pay $3.3- 5.8b in annual income taxes. they assume a midpoint of $2b lost in annual collections from departed billionaires. the net present value of that lost income stream is -$68.9 billion.
so when you add it all up you get:
+ $30b one-time tax windfall (estimated)
- $69b in present value of lost future income taxes
= - 38.9b overall net present value of the tax
of course, this analysis is highly estimate driven. the authors simulate the parameters 100k times and find a negative NPV of the implemented tax 85 percent of the time.
and if the tax doesn't pass, which it's not looking like it will, California still ended up losing at least $577b in departed net worth, and they have permanently poisoned the well with entrepreneurs who will now worry about future wealth taxes.

"O Allah, count them, kill them one by one, and leave none of them."
Here are 44 clips of imams from the Islamic Center of Detroit — where Abdul El-Sayed worships — promoting murder.
The federal government has given the mosque over $45 million since 2017

Palmer Luckey says America needs people willing to build weapons and fight to defend freedom: “Pacifists exist on the sacrifices of people who actually put their lives on the line.” 🇺🇸
“Societies have always needed a warrior class that is enthused and excited about enacting violence in pursuit of good aims. Philosophers can criticize those people and say they’re sick in the head, but society needs them.
We need people who are willing to fight for our country. My life’s not on the line directly, but you need people like me who don’t lose any sleep making tools of violence in order to preserve freedom.
I have no problem with people who say, ‘I could never do that. I’d feel too guilty.’ It’s a good thing we’ve got a mix in society. We don’t all need to do the same things or think the same way.
Pacifists exist on the sacrifices of people who actually put their lives on the line. And I think we should respect that, even if we’re not willing to do it ourselves.”
Palmer is exactly right. I believe we need to stop criticizing people who have dedicated their life to protecting our soldiers and our country. Since the beginning of time, we’ve always needed a warrior class and I’m happy we have people willing to sleep at night knowing that what they’re doing is protecting all enemies domestic and foreign.
@paleochristcon@DeadPresShow The thing is a ton of countries rely on us for security. Most all of Europe, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan etc. So Americans should not support these countries b/c America is invested in their sovereignty? This is illogical. You should want partners of America to thrive.
Until the 1950's you had to put crops in jars of vinegar and store them in a hole underground so you could eat in the winter. We need the youth to stop pretending to be victims and learn how life was and why it's so much easier for them, not harder.
Israel is a country of 10 million people. It holds 0.12% of humanity on a territory the size of Wales. And in 9 of the last 10 years, it has been the subject of more international news coverage per capita than any other country on Earth — double to quadruple the rate of any Western democracy, 7 - 16x more than Canada, 50 - 137x more than Brazil, 200 - 600x more than India. In 2024, 1 out of every 50 news articles published anywhere on the planet, by outlets outside Israel, was primarily about Israel — and in absolute terms only the United States, a country 34x its size and the world's hegemon, was the subject of more.

JUST IN: The U.S. Space Force is expanding the global deployment of ground-based satellite jamming weapons designed to disrupt enemy spacecraft communications without destroying satellites in orbit.
The first full-production units of the Remote Modular Terminal (RMT) system are expected to be ready within weeks, following an initial deployment of 24 systems.
Space Force Lt. Gen. Gregory Gagnon recently confirmed that the jammers are already positioned around the world and have been used in combat, although their locations remain classified.
The compact, remotely operated systems use electronic warfare to temporarily interfere with satellite communications, allowing U.S. forces to deny adversaries access to space-enabled capabilities without generating orbital debris.
The Space Force has previously outlined plans to procure at least 160 terminals, significantly expanding the scale of its counter-space operations.
The new production units represent another step toward making satellite electronic warfare a widely deployable military capability.
