Challenging targets are a tool for driving progress. Scrapping the 2050 target w/o replacement suggests that you don’t think it matters.

@DGinCheshire @JamesWest12 @afneil Climatic changes happen very slowly unless something odd is going on. Alpine glaciers have retreated drastically in a century. Arctic sea ice has declined by something like half since satellite records began.
The visual evidence is undeniable, even if you refuse to accept data.

I’d be fascinated to hear why you think atmospheric CO2 ppm is rapidly rising. There is no evidence of drastically increased volcanic activity.
