We want to see #York transport transformed so every cyclist has #RoomToRide every child has #SafeRoutesToSchool and here's 42 Ways we can do it: https://t.co/QixPbH0jYT
"It's not my duty as Mayor to make sure you have a parking spot. For me it's the same as if you bought a cow, or a refrigerator, and then asked me where you're going to put them."
— @Lorespontevedra
Mayor of #Pontevedra🇪🇸 (re-elected SIX times)
Enjoyed chatting to @bbcnickrobinson about growing up in Swindon, how I once used to be a reasonably good sportswoman (yes, I know that’s hard to believe) and all things transport.🎧👇

From The Guardian:
If road deaths were a virus, we’d call it a pandemic. Safer transport helps us all – and we need it urgently https://t.co/XFw2Q7QDP5
We're doing a citywide audit on cycle parking, and will feed results back to @CityofYork but it's clear there's not enough and we need some that's secure. In recent months we've even seen some removed - remember those at the corner of Parliament St/High Ousegate? 🤨

We're doing Staffed Cycle Parking this weekend - come see us!
We also want businesses to offer cycle parking that's visible and safe. Share our guide with businesses/local places you visit - it's proven to be good for business!

@flickhwilliams@AndyDAgorne@activetraveleng @iTravelYork @yorkcivictrust It's ok, it'll have to be rebuilt and widened in a few years anyway😉 🚲 🚲 🚲 🚲 🚲 🚲 🚲 🚲
..but, seriously; we need to listen to disabled people, and Access Officers so people with mobility problems are considered every step of the way.
There's still time to have your say on the Govt's National Transport Strategy for England.
This will be England’s first attempt at an integrated transport strategy for 27 years!
Get involved, send them your ideas by TOMORROW (20th February) https://t.co/5b9CD202cJ
❗ New: Watch our video to find out about the nearly £300 million in funding we've announced to boost walking, wheeling and cycling in communities across England: https://t.co/EbuaIqq9yk 🚶 👩🦽 🚲
Questions to be asked of @CityofYork - when will #York see completion of existing projects like Jubilee Terrace, Tadcaster Rd, Acomb and Badger Hill school road safety improvements, and the biggest; Shipton Rd Rawcliffe P&R to Bootham.? #ActiveTravel
@YorkCycle@transportgovuk@activetraveleng@CityofYork 2023 scheme was for Jubilee Terrace riverside path upgrade which has still not progressed beyond design stage. In 2024 @CityofYork got only revenue funding of £108k which has not been reported as being spent on anything! So £500k while welcome will not go very far even 1 scheme!
@YorkCycle@transportgovuk@activetraveleng £300m nationally, when some motorway junction 'improvements' are costing that much for a single scheme! @CityofYork funds cut in half compared to 2023 + 2024 because those approved projects not been delivered yet! Need to up pressure on CYC now that have a Transport plan.
@AndyDAgorne@YorkCycle@activetraveleng @iTravelYork @yorkcivictrust Perhaps the Bus Forum and the Civic Trust will finally be able to visualise that the placement of the cycle track makes an additional accessible bus stop an impossibility - like I, and the Access Officer said all along…
