Yesterday we hosted a @Yorkcares team challenge. Great team, and ticked a few more jobs off the task list!
Weeding the entrance (not stirictly our job but we try to be good neighbours!), making a new flower bed and clearing some paths

The @RHS_Rosemoor team have been busy in the Cottage Garden meadow!

Cutting the meadow near the apple trees can be tricky, so they use a hand scythe, which provides a cleaner cut, is less harmful to wildlife, and is quieter 🌱

@leylakazim There are almonds all over UK, planted mostly for the early blossom rather than the fruit. Last year though we had a very good crop here in North Yorkshire.

Please don't cut back ivy if tidying your garden! At this time of year in the UK, its flowers are a great late season pit-stop for struggling pollinators like bees, butterflies, hoverflies and moths. Then the berries will feed hungry birds in winter 🐝🌿
