In 2021 I set about trying to grow many melons in Yorkshire in the North of the UK to show it could be done.
I've written a book about how you too can grow melons in short season climates. 'Melons and other Cucurbits' is available to pre-order now published by @prospectbooks
On a nicer note I've just spent a lovely week in Hereford canoeing and finding old orchards. It's such a beautiful county with excellent cider and Perry.
I'm struggling to be on twitter at the moment with Elon Musk and his support of far right figures so I'm going to do most of my posting over on Instagram - @richardbrownht - however, there are so many people I enjoy reading on here. It's a dilemma.
And so it begins... the first instalment of my history of the 'Beefing' apples is now live on Orchard Notes.
Background info, series introduction, and Chapter One: The ‘Beefing’ Apples Story, 1900 – Today.
