Final Fantasy VII Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase says Square Enix is more likely to invest in new titles than remakes.
Speaking at Lucca Comics & Games, he said the company is “more likely to invest in new titles and new games” once the Remake trilogy is done.
He added that remakes can still happen when the original creators have strong feelings about a project, as they did with Final Fantasy VII.
He also sees no reason future games or TV series based on Final Fantasy stories couldn’t happen.

Epic Games online director says Valve’s response to Steam’s AI clone and slop problem “isn’t enough.”
Valve recently acknowledged the issue at a developer event, saying it has people working on discovery improvements but that it doesn’t want to be “gatekeepers” on which tools developers use.
The comments come as Epic itself has pushed hard on AI, with CEO Tim Sweeney calling Steam’s AI disclosure tags “really irresponsible” and the company moving toward AI-first development on at least one internal project.
GTA 6 is on track to become the most pre-ordered game of all time, according to new estimates.
Analytics firm Sensor Tower puts digital pre-orders at 7.71 million units so far, generating roughly $751 million.
That puts it just behind Cyberpunk 2077’s official 8 million pre-orders.
About 74 percent of the orders are on PS5 and 26 percent on Xbox Series X|S.
These figures are third-party estimates, not official numbers from Rockstar or Take-Two.
The game launches November 19 on both consoles.
Santa Monica Studio has delayed God of War Laufey to May 20, 2027.

The previous release date was February 16.
The team thanked fans for their patience and said more updates are coming.

More than half a million people played it through PlayStation Plus in October.

Some Dead by Daylight players are uninstalling the game after a Behaviour Interactive employee gifted all DLC to streamer TheBurntPeanut.
During a Halloween livestream, the VTuber received every paid expansion. When he offered to return the items, the employee replied “We can take the heat! They are yours to keep.”
Fans pointed to the streamer’s controversial reputation. Many longtime creators are still waiting for Creator Program approval.
Behaviour Interactive later said the decision was made without proper approval. The studio apologized and said it would review internal processes.

British self-made millionaire Mark Tilbury says buying GTA 6 saves you $5,000.
In a video, the entrepreneur priced the Ultimate Edition at $99.99. At 80 hours to finish, that works out to $1.25 an hour. Factor in side missions and map exploration and it drops to 50 cents an hour.
Play four hours a night and that’s 50 nights of entertainment. Compare it to going out and spending $100 a night, and the game saves you $5,000.
Tilbury is known for frugal living tips. The math is tongue-in-cheek.
It’s a solid excuse if your partner wants to go out.
