@CalistaP0508 The fact that anyone would be punished for speaking out about sexual assault is appalling. I understand that schools want to investigate situations like these, but punishing a victim? We're coming upon an age where more individuals feel safe opening up about abuse and assault (1)
@NinjaTornado6 The climate crisis is going to require sacrifices to be made. We have to innovate and find other (more climate friendly) options for transport/beautification. Especially with the growing populations in cities, it makes me wonder if we are coming to the end of the suburbs?
I am very surprised that Putin agreed to this summit, given his destructive and fear-mongering tactics in the Ukranian invasion. Does this show hope for peace agreements? #mchslang23 https://t.co/dywkE4h7QK
I am glad to see more and more people speaking out against this hateful bill. It seems that in recent years we have begun going backwards in social justice and reform. #mchslang23 https://t.co/i40pHMnZAv
@TheWooDynasty@bigG2793 I see this as a result of our social-media age. What do we expect from a society of people told to tweet, post, and share every thought that they have about anything?
@NinjaTornado6 If we look at Musk, Jobs, or any other entrepreneurial visionary - they are almost always eccentric in their ways. It takes a special type of person to put so much risk into their companies. Love them or hate them, they seem to have a method to their madness.
@Sophiaj2222 The unfortunate thing is that there will never be a way to 'wipe out' fake news. Social media companies already struggle to manage their platforms - given the fact that millions of people are posting statements every day.
@Sophiaj2222 Critical thinking, I believe, is key to wipe out misinformation. If we educate the younger generations on how to think critically and fact-check what they see on the internet, we will be much more successful as a society.
@Cassidymchs Sadly these numbers are only rising. I think, to address these issues, mental health resources should be commonplace at any educational facility.
As MLK said in his 'Loving your Enemies' sermon, "When you rise to the level of love... you seek only to defeat evil systems". It is disappointing to see hate in communities near us, but the counterprotest effort shows unity. #mchslang23 https://t.co/de7LRrLwe6
Distrust in institutions and our government is a major issue, and fuels the flames of radicals. There is no basis behind the claims of Cawthorn, and he is luckily being reprimanded for his unprofessionalism. #mchslang23 https://t.co/s5fLHbIkeA
@Aispose I think defining war crimes are important, as the use of chemical weapons during WWI was seen to be horrific. The Geneva Convention, though their message powerful, has been breached time and time again. I agree with this article that any use of nuclear weapons would mean WW3.
@sohammmy I believe that with how effective the vaccines (especially those who are boosted) have been against COVID strains, it should now be up to the individual to decide whether to wear a mask or not. If booster shots become an annual activity, COVID can be something we manage.
@SydneyN_20 Some individuals have brought up that this incentivizes owning a gas-powered vehicle. Is this a rightful criticism? Is our society so dependent on gas that we can't put this money into public transit (and finally move away from gas)?
As is mentioned in this article, Russia's involvement in OPEC is counterintuitive in geopolitical discussions around managing oil prices. Individuals in the U.S, especially in CA, are being hard hit by rising prices. #mchslang23 https://t.co/SD7ZHOekTE
@allys_mchs If Jada felt hurt by the joke, I think she should have shared that with Rock after the Oscars. It was not Wills job to be the 'protector' - in my eye that continues the sexist trope that women can't defend themselves.
@allys_mchs I do not feel as though Smith was justified in this situation. Though the joke did not go over well, the intent is the most important part. Comedians often bridge the line of offensiveness for comedic value, which should be expected.
