The Temple of Heaven in Beijing is called “Tiantan Park” in Chinese. It was first constructed in 1420, the 18th year of the reign of Emperor Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). It was the place where the emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties would worship the god of heaven.

After Nurhachi founded the Later Jin, the rise of Jurchens became inevitable. At that time, Jurchens armor still inherited the design of Ming, but no more long body styles which was not convenient for riding. The armor of this era determined the style of the future Qing armor.

During the rise of Nurhaci, armors used by Jurchens were similar to Ming Empire styles. They inherited the classic long body styles of the Central Plains dynasties designs. These armors had no sleeves, needed to be used with armor sleeves attached with dense and thin iron bars.
