@RachelMoiselle I would frame it differently. If they think he's such a great scholar, I would take them at their word. He studied the texts and evidently came to the conclusion that Islam is a violent religion and that the best way to serve it is through horrific and barbaric acts of savagery.
@matthayesthfc@JordanCarter95 I think it depends on the team and the hype around them really. If the media aren't touting them as favourites and is more modest in their expectations, I am more sympathetic. There is also a big difference between qualifying and doing well.
@JordanCarter95@matthayesthfc There's no issue really. Most Irish people I chat to would have the same sentiment and want all these teams to get to the world cup.
@Joe__Bassey Europeans, Chinese and others practiced brain surgery with evidence as far back as 5000BC. There are loads of research papers on the practice called trepanation.
@EssnerBenjamin @Buttsauce__ @DelusionPosting I've some good news for you. It's not true. Any German pilots or sailors found in Ireland were kept in prisoner camps, Allied were sent back to the UK to fight on.
@KingBorn8@queenie4rmnola They weren't the first in the Ireland, according to mythology. And they weren't black according to any of the mythological sources, such as the Book of Invasions. For real history, you should check out the speaking tour Frederick Douglass made around Ireland in 1845.
@Voiceof02632010@mjc0ughl4n@fogarty245 There were less than 1000 civilian deaths during the war of independence, caused by both sides. Around the same number of RIC, British Army etc and under 500 IRA. Adding them up comes to approximately 2300. He probably means the total deaths.
