@BluSn0vy However these have a good chance of influencing the next generation and that'll become a foundation for expanding or implementing these changes for real.
@BluSn0vy People often scoff off at attempts of introducing new rules, laws, values and such saying it'll change nothing because they'll keep doing as always.
@BluSn0vy I don't think modern Japanese legalist mentality has much to do with feudalism tbh. It strikes me as having more to do with the brand of Confucianism and statism propagated during the Empire of Japan.
@BluSn0vy My impression is that older Japanese nerds from the formative generations were more permissible in regards to pirating and modding but the younger generations just simply accepted the rules already in place.
@BluSn0vy >Is there a reasonable competitor though?
lol no.
But the thing with with just doing things quietly while leaving the rules unchallenged is that it'll just become harder to do.
@BluSn0vy To be fair some of these people can be pretty annoying in how they seem to have a need to keep insisting they have the moral high ground.
The Japanese still manage to be more annoying though.
@BluSn0vy Attempts at profiling your opponents in general. I'm just saying what apparent contradictions in ideological statements and actions or different ideological statements just don't have a deeper meaning in general.
