@lylo @jshmc Not sure if it’s true but I heard this was stigmatized because it implied that your cup was cheap because it couldn’t withstand boiling water. Adding milk first makes sure it won’t crack.

@ashugeo @jshmc Diabolo (sirop de grenadine, etc). I don’t think I’ve ever been served one where you didn’t mix it yourself, but the sirop is always in the glass and the water is in a carafe (or bottle).

The challenge came when making responsive enough to feel like it was part of the OS, wiithout using really any CPU. It took about 4 rewrites: I think the secret is that I’m really stubborn and have high standards 😂

@amatchneer Thanks for reading! It was never added back. We used Ably for a year or so before migrating to our own solution — we just didn’t talk about Realness publicly. We shipped a fail-safe switch that would use Ably if it went down, but eventually removed it entirely.

It’s so rewarding to see this in action. It turns out writing a backend/frontend for a E2EE mesh network to stream media is a whole thing. Cross-platform, C++, with global distribution. I hope to do another @tuple blog post soon!
