Mormons talk a lot about a promise to mourn with those that mourn. But we also must rejoice with those that rejoice.

Pride is a celebration - because it’s not enough to mourn homophobia and the suffering it has caused.

We defeat it by rejoicing with those that rejoice. 🏳️‍🌈

It is our duty to recognize and report abuse by those in power when we see it in part because all too often it occurs behind closed doors.

When someone with power over young people in our church willingly hurts them in public it is past time for action.

Hold him accountable.

We cannot tolerate spiritual, ecclesiastical, or any other form of abuse from those entrusted with the task of teaching our children and young adults the gospel.

Period.

Allowing a @BYU religion professor (and long-time EFY speaker) to engage in the harassment of a former student without consequence is antithetical to what Christ taught about abuse.

It is also the exact oppose of what church leaders have told us to do (https://t.co/PrvpdokZyc).
