In attendance were the BAN Global President, Engr. Azubike Onowu and some of the beneficiaries and their parents/guardians, teachers from benefiting schools and observers from the host community.
Addressing the crowd, the BAN Global President reiterated his commitment to giving back to society via the SDG 4 - Quality Education for all. He counted the students lucky to be among the selected beneficiaries and promised more of such gestures from BAN.
He charged both the benefitting students and non-benefitting students of the scholarship to brace up to future challenges.
The beneficiaries were drawn from 15 different schools across Rivers State.
21 beneficiaries with ₦630,000.
19 beneficiaries with ₦570,000.
The BAN Global President also promised an additional ₦300,000 which will cover 10 extra students across the benefiting schools.
The head girl (a beneficiary) from one of the schools on behalf of all the beneficiaries described the Global President - BAN as a fine gentleman, thanking him for his words of wisdom and motivation. She thanked BAN for such a wonderful initiative, praying that God blesses us immensely while also appreciating our global president for being physically present.

The teachers were not left out as they were full of joy. They beckoned on us to continue with such a laudable initiative.

Good Morning Beautiful People 🌞🤍
*PO has a legendary way of making an enormous energy & time deployed in senselessly attacking him looks like a waste of Energy & time 😂. He cautioned his supporters on Kenneth Okonkwo's letter.* He said 👇👇👇
Yesterday, I read my dear brother Kenneth Okonkwo's open letter in which he expressed differing views with me on the skirmishes in our party. And today I saw various responses to the letter.
I want to therefore categorically and emphatically declare that Barrister Okonkwo remains my beloved brother and a trusted ally. I sternly caution against referring to him as a mole or making any negative remarks. Barr. Kenneth Okonkwo has stood by me through thick and thin, and his loyalty and commitment cannot be overstated or diminished. Disagreements and differing opinions are a natural part of any group, society, or movement, and it is essential to maintain a level of respect and decorum even when we disagree.
Having differing views does not make someone an enemy, and it is crucial to engage in constructive dialogue rather than resorting to personal attacks or negative remarks.
In fact, to me personally, I don't want to work with anyone who always agrees with me, because as a leader, learning and listening are critical components of leadership. I want to listen to those who have different opinions and try to convince them otherwise or take their advice if it is better.
I urge all believers of a New Nigeria to remain strong, resilient, and focused, and to refrain from discouragement or negative remarks towards Barrister Kenneth Okonkwo or anyone who leaves or disagrees with our views, strategies or tactics.
My message is clear and simple: unity, respect, and civility must prevail, even in the face of disagreement and variance.

To live in the hearts of those you love is not to die." - Thomas Campbell
This quote reminds us that the love we share with you transcends the boundaries of life and death. Even though you may be gone, your memory lives on in our hearts.
As you begin the journey into life eternal, we are comforted with the memories created with you and the legacy you left behind.
And now his watch is ended.
