Thomas Hardy died OTD 1928.
After his death, his ashes were to be buried at Westminster Abbey & his heart in his Dorset village. However the heart was left for a few minutes in the kitchen & the cat ate it. The heart (inside dead cat) is buried in St. Michael's, Stinsford.
