SpaceX's Starship IFT-13 launch took place on July 24, 2026 from Starbase, Texas using the upgraded V3 vehicles.
IFT-13 was a suborbital test that successfully deployed 20 functional next-generation Starlink V3 satellites for the first time, along with an in-space Raptor engine relight.
The Starship upper stage achieved a soft splashdown in the Indian Ocean, remaining intact and floating while providing new heat shield imagery.
SpaceX's water deluge system at Starbase activates seconds before Raptor ignition, spraying up to ~350,000 gallons of water upward from beneath the launch mount to suppress acoustic shock, cool the pad, and deflect exhaust flames during Starship liftoff.

SpaceX identified the engine startup problem as the abort trigger, announced plans to replace two engines, and targeted the next launch attempt for early the following week around July 20.
The test ignited all 33 Raptor engines on Booster 20 for about 25 seconds, simulating launch conditions as part of preparations for the upcoming Flight 13 targeted around July 14-15.
This 60-second test of all six Raptor engines on the upper stage is a key pre-flight milestone ahead of IFT-13, the 13th integrated Starship flight test using Block 3 hardware.
