"To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It's be a waste of life to do nothing with one's ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone".
~Bruce McLaren
@alpha_defense@AdityaR28415548 There's more to a radar's performance than the TRM count, but to understand that you need to set aside your hate boner for the Rafale. Plus, 838 was the count in pre-prod units. Serial prod units have much higher TRM count.
@CrazyClips2us@vasilyaarkhipov Not the same case with Chinooks as it's still in production. We can still get Chinooks if we want, but both IAF and MoD loves sleeping on things until it's too late.
@vasilyaarkhipov Relevant people took their own sweet time to come up with this. This is a low hanging fruit and work should've started on it the minute the last of the P-15B ships were laid down. Wasted precious yrs twiddling thumbs when the Rajputs need decommissioning sooner rather than later.
@Defencematrix1 If such a thing materialises, then would love to see a face off between this and the C2. The Japanese need to show that they're serious about increased defence co-op with us by offering the low hanging fruits such as C2 and/or US-2i.
I think Western journos have figured out that if they ragebait Indians, they will get engagements and monetise their X handles. We Indians need to stop obliging those fools.
@Kuntal__biswas MSA Gallet helmet is also used by the Tejas pilots flying training sorties. The Mirage-2K pilot too coulda very well be on a training sortie.
@alpha_defense Care to share any official report which shows that the performance based logistics model of that aircraft struggled to meet the operational demands of the IAF during Op Sindoor?
@AnchitGupta9@VishnuNDTV@joe_sameer@ShivAroor Can you please share the article/essay penned by Tom Cooper, the excerpt of which you've shared in this post? It'll greatly appreciated, thank you.
@ArunudoyB I totally agree with you. The nationalism amongst us Bengali Hindus is rapidly rising, especially the Probashi Bengalis. Slowly but surely, we will become great again (hopefully not too slowly). The world isn't ready for the Bengali Hindu Nationalism of the original type.
@IndiaHistorypic Not his fault. He was literally *coerced* into signing terms he/his cabinet absolutely detested. And then, he was assassinated and it was shamelessly covered up. LBS, behind his perceived "meek" image, was a man of integrity and strength (and no, I'm not a INC fan).
@Iyervval Su-30MKI's availability rate used to be around 50% 10-12yrs ago, currently it stands at ~65%. The 25% availability rate is of the IN's MiG-29K/KUB. Su-30's AL-31FP engines are being upgraded by HAL+MIDHANI to boost their MTBO from 500hrs to 1000hrs, currently in progress.
@JaidevJamwal Marut died when the GoI refused to pay £20mn for more powerful engines. Marut was DoA bcoz of our penny-pinching, and to avoid a repeat, HAL/IAF denied pursuing HF-73 with Snecma M45 when RB199 was denied. So no, Jaguar didn't kill Marut, it died much earlier.
@JaidevJamwal Partly true. Marut was dead long before the Jaguar entered service. India was on the lookout for Saab Viggen. HAL proposed HF-73 in a JV with MBB with TU RB199 engines. HF-73 didn't progress as RB199 was denied. IAF ended up buying Jaguars, MiG-23BN & MiG-27.
@alpha_defense Neither will it ever see service with Indian forces, nor is anyone presenting it as a "game changer". Your embarrassing attempts at portraying PSUs being unfairly criticised (HAL in this case) is the sole reason behind you opposing any private participation in airframe mfg.
