At Michigan our algorithm anticipated loss of preload (all induction agents but ketamine less so) so before tubing fluids were always running and push dose pressors were on hand.

Had bloodwork done this morning. Some observations from my phlebotomist:

1. Most overused jokes from patients: "Here comes the vampire", "Here comes the bloodsucker", and "Hey, save some for me!"

2. No one likes the phlebotomist.
