What a ride it’s been! Thanks for the amazing memories from my early fangirl era. I made this account back in 2013 mostly for 1D & 5SOS stuff, but now I use it for whatever catches my interest. So, I’ve decided to let go of these usernames for good.😭

Nanawagan tayo sa mga concerned government agencies na agad bumuo ng province-by-province preparedness plan para sa paparating na Super El Niño. Dapat kumilos ang gobyerno bago pa tumama ang tagtuyot at kakulangan sa tubig sa mga magsasaka, mangingisda, at pamilyang Pilipino.

Dapat malinaw sa bawat lalawigan kung aling mga lugar ang high-risk, gaano karaming suplay ng tubig para sa irigasyon ang available, anong mga pananim ang nakatanim na, aling mga komunidad ng mangingisda at aquaculture ang maaaring mangailangan ng suporta, sino-sino ang mga opisyal na responsable sa pagtugon, at anong tulong ang maaaring maihatid bago pa magkaroon ng malalaking pagkalugi.

Hinihimok din natin ang DA at NIA na pabilisin ang repair at rehabilitation ng mga irrigation system, lalo na sa mga drought-prone area, habang tinitiyak ang napapanahong pamamahagi ng drought-tolerant seeds at iba pang agricultural inputs, at pagtukoy ng mga maaasahang water source para sa mga farming community na maaaring maapektuhan ng matagal na tagtuyot.

Sa mga ganitong pagkakataon, dapat ang gobyerno ang maging sandalan ng ating mga magsasaka at mangingisda. Hindi sana sila umasa sa mga loan shark na magsasamantala at aabusuhin ang kanilang pangangailangan. Tayo sa gobyerno ang dapat nilang maging sandigan, lalo na sa mga susunod na buwan.

Kapag pinabayaan natin ang ating mga food producers, sapul na naman ang presyo at supply ng pagkain. Mas lalong mahal na bilihin na naman ang haharapin ng ating mga kapwa, kaya ngayon pa lang, dapat kumikilos na ang national government at mga LGUs.

Peering into the shadowed fissures of the dark karst, we see a landscape defined by mutual adaptation. As water carved these intricate, scalloped textures, the forest learned to move with it.

The limestone creates cool, sheltered voids, and the ecosystem responds—vines reach into the hollows, while moss and decaying leaves cling to jagged ledges to slowly build new earth.

The rock and the forest are constantly shaping each other.

On September 4, a landslide in Baras, Rizal covered about 50 meters of Marilaque Highway and temporarily blocked nearly 4 kilometers of the road after continuous rains saturated the ground.

But how vulnerable is the landscape itself?

A 2026 landslide susceptibility study of the Upper Marikina River Basin Protected Landscape found that 84.44% of the area falls within moderate-to-very-high susceptibility (Almoite et al., 2026, Research Square preprint). Slope, land use and land cover, and rainfall were the study’s three strongest factors.

Landslides remind us that a watershed is more than its rivers. Its forests, slopes, soils, roads, and communities are all connected.

What happens upstream matters downstream.

Sa paggunita natin sa deklarasyon ng Martial Law, inaalala natin ang mga kabataang tulad nina Edgar "Edjop" Jopson at Lean Alejandro na piniling makialam, manindigan, at lumaban para sa demokrasya at kalayaan.

Hindi naging madali ang kanilang laban. Pero ipinakita nila na ang demokrasya ay hindi lamang trabaho ng mga lider. Pinoprotektahan ito ng bawat mamamayang handang magsalita, magtanong, at manindigan kapag may mali.

At ito ang aral na mahalaga pa rin hanggang ngayon.

Iba man ang panahon at iba man ang mga hamon, tungkulin pa rin nating bantayan ang ating mga institusyon at ipaglaban ang karapatan ng bawat Pilipino.

Ngayon, sa gitna ng malaking flood control corruption scandal, mataas na presyo ng mga bilihin, kahirapan, disinformation, at iba pang problemang nagpapabigat sa buhay ng mga Pilipino, hindi sapat na alalahanin lang natin ang kasaysayan.

Kailangan nating isabuhay ang mga aral nito.

Maging mapanuri. Maging mapagmatyag. Magsalita kapag may mali. Makialam kapag may naaapi. At manindigan para sa katotohanan at pananagutan.

Hindi kailangang maging eksaktong katulad nina Edjop at Lean.

Ang kailangan natin ay ang tapang na ipinakita nila—ang tapang na makialam, tumindig, at kumilos para sa kapwa.

Sa bawat henerasyon, may pagkakataong pumili: manahimik o makialam, tumingin sa iba o tumindig, makalimot o umalala.

A FLOWER OF RIZAL🌿

Sprouting directly from the narrow, deep cracks of the karst, the petals of 𝘐𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘳𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘢 are in full bloom.

This rare endemic wildflower carries Rizal in its very name. The species name rizaliana honors Rizal Province, where its type specimen was collected, while also carrying a fitting association with the province’s namesake and our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal.

It is a small but beautiful reminder of what makes Rizal extraordinary: within its mountains, forests, rivers, and ancient limestone formations are species found in few other places on Earth. Protecting these landscapes means protecting a natural heritage that is distinctly Rizaleño—and part of the wider Filipino story.

Where we see harsh, solid stone, Impatiens rizaliana finds sanctuary, drawing just enough moisture and protection from the limestone crevices to thrive even through the rains.

Because we are still observing this species and learning its rhythms, every bloom teaches us something new. Nature does not create barren spaces—only highly specific homes for life that has learned to belong there.
