@marmalade2015@jmacmcgrady@FixingEducation I agree w/ different expectations for rigor but in my experience as an elective teacher, I have many more preps... 2 or 3 in core vs. my 5 or 6. I think there are pros/cons to every position and they could be debated forever. Of course all school situations are different too.

@LCHSMrFleming @MrsCarlottaCarr PEOPLE gather and learn in both places. That was the comparison. It's insane to think that it's the responsibility of people in these learning environments to protect themselves. That was my point. I'm all for banning assault weapons over locked down schools and libraries.
I think about this every time I decide to NOT enter a grade for something. It usually just puts kids who aren't doing well further behind... been thinking a lot about grading practices lately...
