1. there is no point in contention. telugu cinema never claimed to be representative of indian cinema unlike bollywood (the industry, not audience) that always put itself at the forefront of indian cinema and rarely acknowledged the industries down south for ages until Baahubali.
2. yes, we want and know Varanasi will continue in the footsteps of RRR and will be another project that Indian cinema will be proud of globally. why is there anything wrong with that? is dreaming and manifesting also an issue now? Rajamouli is THE biggest director in india and arguably in asia right now. whether a Varansi, RRR, Ramayana, or any other big budgeted film today would not exist or even dare to dream if it weren’t for him.
3. varanasi is not the first answer and we don’t care if it is varanasi or ramayana that is the first answer. indian mythology should be celebrated and brought to the world like how greek mythology is now.
4. people aren’t dissing Ramayana because of Varanasi, people are dissing Ramayana because of Ramayana. if you say you spent 4,000 CRORES or to put it simply $400 MILLION DOLLARS on the biggest epic of india, then people expect quality that far surpasses even the biggest movies of Hollywood. the stuff they’ve shown us looks nowhere like that. people are dissing Ramayana because of love towards the epic. they want to see it be great, no one wants it to fail. if you’re promising never before seen visuals and it’s still no where near the level of quality you expect from that budget then of course people will call you out.
5. again, no one cares if Varanasi is the first answer or Ramayana, people just want a good movie. at the end of the day only a great movie will cross boundaries.
and one final thing, they keep saying we are pushing telugu cinema to be global representation ahead of hindi. we aren’t, we want it to be indian cinema, but even if we are in some way what’s wrong with that? since the inception of indian cinema bollywood has been the identity of what cinema from india is. to this day there are still countless number of indians themselves who only think of indian cinema as bollywood let alone people from outside of india. if a small industry like telugu cinema can make a change and showcase that its beyond jut one industry, one culture then why is that wrong?
why do you always want to step down on us?
@jammypants4 I’ve seen you recently interview about crying on varanasi, you are always partial towards Bollywood man, but now I’m telling you that no one including Ramayana is a competition to Varanasi. #Varanasi
@Cine_Uncensored Dude, there could be many reasons as they mentioned complex camera movements and ajusting frames accordingly to fit imax and CGI, it’s not the actors not performing, stop putting thoughts in peoples mind.
#VARANASI:
We have completed a major portion of the shoot all the important big spectacle action sequences are done.
We are now into doing the smaller, interconnecting scenes so hopefully, by September, maybe a little bit into October, we should be finishing shooting.
