Quick reminder: Gabriel is NOT Adrien’s biological father. They aren’t related at all and never have been.

Their son was created with the Peacock Miraculous by Emilie Agreste herself. She literally created the pregnancy, carried the child herself, and gave birth to him herself. Gabriel has no blood, genetic, or any other biological connection to Adrien, which is exactly why he never truly cared about his son.

You can say, “But he loved him in the earlier seasons, he protected him sometimes before completely losing it in S5.” No, he didn’t. He loved his wife, and that’s exactly why he carefully kept the last thing he had left of her in his mansion – Adrien. He “loved” Adrien through his love for Emilie, nothing more.

By S5, he became completely obsessed with defeating Ladybug. That season is exactly when he showed his true face toward Adrien, coldly sending him off to London not to protect him, but because he was convinced Emilie was about to come back and Adrien personally wasn’t needed anymore, just an old reminder of her.

In the S5 finale, he realized what he had done, which is exactly why he told Marinette not to tell Adrien anything about Hawk Moth or any of his other dark secrets.

In S5 btw, episode 6, Luka was supposedly trying to push Marinette and Adrien together by making Adrien jealous. He was hugging Marinette way too closely, walking around holding her hand, that’s such Katherine behavior: trying to get an ex back through obvious hints while simultaneously pissing off the person they’re currently with.

I NEED a fic where Luka eventually starts taking revenge on Adrien for real.

#DesperateHousewives and #Miraculous fans, hear me out: I can’t stop thinking that if Miraculous had a higher age rating, Luka Couffaine and Katherine Mayfair could’ve had basically the same storyline, if you know what I mean… neither of them could let go of the person they loved.

I also wanna add that whenever he found out in different episodes that Adrien was actually Cat Noir, he never ran to understand him, he immediately started figuring out how to use him to take Ladybug’s Miraculous.

In Style Queen, Gabriel’s whole “what’s done is done” attitude showed he wasn’t worried about Adrien because he saw the villain as his masterpiece and was convinced he was about to get the Miraculouses and then his wife back.

In Gorizilla, he genuinely worried about Adrien because he wasn’t sure Gorizilla would actually bring him the Miraculouses.

His “love” for Adrien works in impulses: the closer he gets to bringing Emilie back, the more he suppresses that performative love for Adrien.
