The kindest thing literature does is remind you that your peculiar little feelings have always existed. Someone, in some century, was equally confused by love, bored by society, tired of performing, and hungry for meaning.

The photograph was taken by Captain Herbert Walker one of the British Officers who took part in the British attack against the city in the same year.

Royal Architecture of the Western Highlands of Cameroon
the Bamiléké and Bamum kingdoms integrated genealogical and political archives directly into the architecture of their royal palaces. These structures featured massive wooden support pillars carved with vertical stacks of human and animal figures. These carvings created a physical record of descent and authority.
The human carvings mapped ancestral lineages, while the zoomorphic figures specifically the elephant, leopard, and buffalo represented the attributes of the ruler. These animal motifs served as emblems of strength and wisdom, signaling that the Fon's power was rooted in both lineage and spiritual capability.
These pillars converted the palace into a public proof of legitimacy.
Yup. My younger sister used to draw all the time from primary school, but my mum pushed her into science class because it was seen as the "better" path. I'm glad she chose Arts and Design instead, even if it meant waiting an extra year to rewrite GCE in arts subjects.
In my years, I've heard so many people say how they used to draw but we're told to stop. It's actually a deep topic and when we’re ready, we’ll talk about how the older generations are the sole contributors to the decline and degradation of Nigerian education.
Malian architecture, primarily found in the Sudano-Sahelian style across cities like Djenné and Timbuktu, features distinctive windows that blend climate control with cultural artistry. Because the buildings are constructed from sun-baked mud bricks (banco), window designs are highly diverse to protect the structure and regulate temperature.
The windows are often framed by elaborate, symbolic geometric patterns that reflect a blend of indigenous beliefs and Islamic design. The wooden elements framing the openings are generally sourced from palm or kile wood, making the windows both a functional necessity and a display of local craftsmanship.

A moving woman will eventually understand feminism.
It is sacrosanct to your self actualisation that you see yourself worthy of the highest form of respect as a human being and not anything less because you’re a woman.
Again, a moving woman WILL learn feminism.
Just a reminder to women:
Whether you have a PhD, a bachelor's degree, a diploma, a certificate, or no formal degree at all, your dreams are still valid.
Keep learning, keep building and keep showing up.
The world needs what you have to offer.
Hi women, can you post pictures or talk about your academic achievements? I need some motivation this month.
If you see this tweet, share it so women can see it.
