How ironic: the 700-year-long Islamic rule in the Iberian Peninsula (Al-Andalus) was a golden age for the Jewish population living there until the Reconquista.

They were kicked out of the country after the fall of Al-Andalus, along with Muslims, and had to emigrate to Islamic dominions, including the Ottoman Empire.

Now, the Israeli foreign minister condemns that golden era as a period of Islamic tyranny.
