Studio Passione is making it. Takeo Takahashi (Spice and Wolf) is chief director, Hijiri Sanpei is director. Character design by Yuka Takashina.

It’s about a guy who gets reborn in a fantasy world and pretends to be an alchemist while hiding cheat skills. He meets a slave girl named Nora and things get bigger from there.

The manga sold over 1 million copies and started as a small Pixiv comic. No air date yet.

One Punch Man is built as a parody. Saitama is already at the finish line on page one, the joke is that nothing can challenge him and that hero society still ignores him. The plot lives in the supporting cast, the Hero Association bureaucracy, Garou’s arc, and the running satire of shonen power scaling. Comedy and self-awareness are the point.

Solo Leveling is a straight power-fantasy progression story.

Comparing them as if they have the same goals is the actual inconsistency. You can enjoy a gag series that weaponizes its own simplicity and still criticize a serious-toned series for relying on the same simplicity without the satire. Different intent, different standards.
