What I've learned is that calling yourself a paraphile when you're anti or non contact is basically just a way to get people to hate you and little else. The real definition is of someone with an attraction to said thing, but the every day definition also includes actual action.

I don't think I care if in theory animals can consent. Whether they can or can't, you can't get a record from one when they can't use precise language. It's also highly coersive when animals are legally owned property. They don't have a fraction of the rights we do.

If you want to manage your paraphilia, I recommend thinking about how it's awful to the target to act on whenever you think of it. I don't know if it'll work for others.
Paras are not inherently bad people. Unfortunately, paraphilias can influence someone to make harmful choices.

After my views shifted, every time I thought about action, it was met with moral repugnancy, I would think about how it would be harmful to act on. And over time that seemed to work. This is different from conversion therapy, which is forceful and works on shame and punishment.

It took me a long time to put into words because I stopped caring. If I came to this whole conclusion when I went inactive I would have said something. But I didn't. Before anyone asks.

I see no reason to continue this, I don't understand why other decent people continue. This is why I was mostly inactive for the past 3 years. There's no point to this if you genuinely care about animals or children. Only if you care about rapists. And I don't. So I'm quitting.
