I’ll let you in on a secret. I have a doctorate in education, but the field’s basically just a 100 years old. We don’t really know what we’re doing. Our scholarly understanding of how learning happens is like astronomy 2000 years ago.
Most classroom practice is astrology.
Come September, every school should focus on ensuring (and measuring) student inclusion, belonging, participation & engagement and not zero in solely on “learning gaps.”
If you do that, I guarantee that you’ll also address learning gaps.

As early as the week of May 3rd, all education workers across the province will be eligible to book an appointment for the #COVID19 vaccine.
This is the momentum we need to defeat this pandemic.
