5/ Willow’s recent accomplishment is about improving quantum error correction and running certain tasks faster than classical supercomputers. While exciting for scientific progress, this doesn’t translate into near-term ability to handle the challenge of breaking SHA-256.

@pete_rizzo_ One takeaway for me from this email trail is that Satoshi seems to have an academic or research background, as only individuals in those fields tend to be so particular about citations.
