I don't design a thumbnail so much as generate options until one stops annoying me

No actual system, just gut feeling and elimination

Probably why my CTR is inconsistent, there's no repeatable logic behind any of it

Why do I feel guilty on days I don't touch the channel

Took a proper day off on Sunday and spent a chunk of it mentally listing everything I wasn't doing

The rest didn't really work because I never actually stopped thinking about it

A day off you spend feeling bad about isn't a day off, it's just unproductive work

Is anyone else's worst habit rewriting a script that was already fine

Wrote something solid on Monday, kept tweaking it through Wednesday, and by Thursday it had lost whatever made the first draft work

Ended up going back to the original version

Why does the algorithm seem to reward me for things I did three weeks ago

Had a strong run of uploads in July, then a quiet fortnight, and the good performance showed up during the quiet part

The delay between doing the work and seeing the result makes it almost impossible to know what's actually working

Just keep making things and stop trying to attribute every spike

Killed an idea 2 hours into editing last week because the hook wasn't landing no matter what I tried

Six months ago I would have forced it through and published something mediocre

Recognising a dead video early is probably worth more than any editing technique

Why does a week off make coming back harder rather than easier

Took 7 days away thinking I'd return refreshed and full of ideas

Instead the first video back took twice as long because I'd lost all the small rhythms of the workflow

Momentum is a real thing and it decays faster than I expected

I used to cut every pause and pack the video as tight as possible

Now I leave breathing room and the retention is better for it

Turns out relentless pacing is exhausting to watch even when it looks efficient on the timeline

Why do I keep saving reference videos I never actually go back and study

Got a playlist with 60 videos in it labelled "study these" and I've properly analysed maybe four

Saving something feels productive enough that I never do the actual work of breaking it down

Deleting the playlist and just picking one video a week to properly dissect instead

My tenth upload had me refreshing analytics all night

My fortieth I posted and went to bed

Not because I care less, more that one video stopped feeling like the whole channel's fate rested on it

Started forcing myself to pick within 30 minutes and the output doubled

Why do I always underestimate how long a video will take by exactly half

Every single time I think 4 hours and it takes 8

Been doing this long enough that I should have corrected for it by now but the optimism resets every upload

Started just doubling whatever number my brain gives me and the schedule finally feels realistic

Monday uploads consistently outperform my Thursday uploads by a noticeable margin

Same effort on paper, but by Thursday I'm rushing to hit the schedule instead of actually thinking about the video

Might need to move everything earlier in the week rather than spreading it out
