JUST IN: Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto announces that all gambling advertisements are now banned in Pasig City, covering billboards, signages, sponsorships, and any promotional materials from gambling companies.

The new policy comes through Ordinance No. 26 s-2025, authored by Councilor Paul Senogat, and marks another decisive step in the city’s anti-gambling efforts.

#VicoSotto then recalls the broader context: in 2022, Pasig became the first LGU to ban both POGOs and e-gambling shops, even amid pressure and alleged bribery attempts during the passage of Ordinance No. 55 s-2022.

He noted the many lives are damaged by active-play gambling and stresses that constant exposure to ads only pushes people back into harmful habits.

He adds that gambling psychology is well-researched, hoping the ordinance faces no resistance.
