Before the war, she worked as an architect.
However, after the Russian invasion, she set aside her architectural plans and donned a uniform🇺🇦

This brave woman joined the army as a combat medic, saving the wounded under fire during the fiercest clashes.
She saw severely wounded soldiers. Bloodied faces. Mutilated bodies. People she knew were dying.

"I had to do everything in my power to save a person," she recalled.

Later, she took the controls of an M2 Bradley vehicle and eventually became its commander within the 47th Mechanized Brigade.

Her Bradley was hit repeatedly. She herself was wounded. Yet, she kept fighting.
During one engagement, she maneuvered her crew through Russian fire to reach Ukrainian infantry and helped evacuate eight soldiers.

She did not retreat. She did not break. She continues to fight; even today, this amazing woman stands in the front line🇺🇦

Her crime? Joining the January uprising and stopping the beating of another protester.

Sentence: DEATH after being tortured with electric shocks and threatened with rape in prison.

Despite Taraneh's deteriorating health, an official in the prison's medical unit told her:

"You're going to be executed anyway whether you die from the pain in your leg or die paralyzed, what does it matter?"
