@LeadingReport Since we're dealing with mentally slow people, let's use small words:
Judiciary: 6-3 Republican majority.
Legislative: Republicans hold both houses.
Executive: Trump is in the White House.
You can't blame Democrats when you control all branches of government
Here is some truth: Putin invaded Ukraine. NATO is the most successful military alliance in history. Since 1945, American leadership has ensured freedom and security for ourselves and millions of others around the world. Together with our allies, we defeated the Soviet Union—an empire so evil it had to build gulags and walls to keep its own people in. Destroying America’s alliances and abandoning the cause of freedom is morally and strategically indefensible. Putin will pocket Trump’s naive concessions and demand much more. Appeasement makes a wider war more likely, not less.
@realDonaldTrump, @JDVance, and @elonmusk have made clear who they are. Only fools—or Kremlin tools—would abandon NATO, side with Russia, and demand Ukraine surrender in the face of Putin’s brutal aggression.
You can't beat somethin' with nothin'. China has a trillion-dollar Belt & Road Initiative (BRI) to win influence around the world. USAID was already a fraction of BRI. Shutting down or reducing USAID would mean giving up, and letting China become the world's hegemon. Very imprudent.
For those who think the S Ct wants to split the baby: a win for Trump in CO case, and against in immunity, that is wrong IMHO. By staying the DC case, the S Ct has given Trump the win already (he only cares about not being tried before the election).
@MiddleManEC The money could be put into a decent mutual fund and return $70-$110 million a year, which would be more than enough to pay for tuition for all students.
Holy Crap!
93-year-old billionaire, Dr. Ruth Gottesman, just donated $1 BILLION to a Bronx medical school, the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her instructions for the money?
"The gift should be used to cover tuition for all students going forward."
Her Husband passed away 2 years ago. “He left me, unbeknownst to me, a whole portfolio of Berkshire Hathaway stock,” The instructions were simple: “Do whatever you think is right with it,” she recalled.
This is amazing!
Let me roll it to you:
1. Trump lost the 2020 election.
2. Trump lied about losing.
3. Trump lost in court 60 times appealing his loss.
4. Trump has been indicted in 4 different jurisdictions.
5. . . . for 91 felonies.
6. Trump lied about having classified documents.
7. Trump owes nearly $500 million from civil court decisions against him
8. Trump was impeached twice.
9. Trump is a con man.
10. Trump has been adjudicated a rapist and a fraud in civil court.
. . . It ain't a witch hunt. It's not the deep state. It's Donald Trump - who caused all of this by his own actions.
He won't even denounce Putin for Alexei Navalny's death.
Exhausted? Please. He's just getting started. If you're exhausted now, imagine what another four years of Trump in the WH would be like.

@chrislhayes Totally agree with Chris Hayes! This is a terrible corporate decision and I was stunned and disappointed when I watched Mehdi Hasan announce this yesterday. I will miss his balanced and intelligent reporting. Good luck sir in all your future ventures.
“No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.”
— U.S. Constitution, Amendment XIV, § 3.
Let’s do a deal.
Donald Trump gets to ignore the 14th Amendment and run for president again in 2024.
But Barack Obama gets to ignore the 22nd Amendment and also run for president again in 2024.
Republicans cool with that?
Best things to come out of America in the poll
1. Martin Luther King
2. Barack Obama
3. Netflix
4. Hollywood movies
5. Michael Jackson
6. Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson
7. The Simpsons
8. Stephen King

I’ve been as cool and laid back, patient and supportive as anyone for three years now.
Merrick Garland: It’s time for him to come out of the shadows and communicate more directly with the citizens of this nation.
We need to know that he is feeling the same sense of urgency that we expect him to be feeling about the current state of affairs and the anti-democracy lies, propaganda and coordination with foreign actors by our nations leadership.
I’m not going to say that he isn’t doing his job. He may well be. We can’t know for sure.
I’m sure, just as has been the case in recent months and years, there are actions being taken that we don’t know about.
What I am saying, however, is that we have crossed into a very unique and dangerous period of uncertainty in our nation. “Just have faith in the justice system” is not acceptable at this point. It is not.
Fuck faith. Our nation is under attack. Faith is for places of worship. When it comes to our Department of Justice….only action makes the grade. We expect more than to just “have faith.”
I know I’m far from alone on this.
I’ve gotten messages of concern from Democrats for almost three years now. Hundreds of them.
I’ve defended Merrick Garland and the DOJ every step of the way. I will continue to do so.
However, while I’m doing so, I’m going to be laying on the pressure….and asking you to do the same…for Merrick Garland to vigorously and rapidly indicate the sense of urgency that this deserves. I don’t feel it. I don’t think most of you do either.
The bottom line…is that we aren’t seeing that right now. We are not.
The morale of law abiding citizens and those fighting for democracy is waning. This, in and of itself, is concerning.
Attitude, morale and hopefulness are critical when it comes to voter turnout.
Republicans are going scorched Earth right now (and it’s only going to get worse with every passing week) to do one thing:
Crush morale and usher in a wave of learned helplessness.
Learned helplessness is when people have experienced highly stressful situations repeatedly. Situations for which they believe they have no control.
Eventually, they just stop trying. They say, “Fuck it. There’s nothing I can do.” and quit.
Once people have reached this state and mind and body, there is no quick and reliable way to pull them back.
If an entire party reaches the state of mind and body, a dictator will come to power, and people like me who speak out against such people….would likely be pursued aggressively.
(Don’t assume you’d be safe just because you’ve only got 500 followers.)
The silence from the DOJ is deafening.
We are well beyond the time where “We will go after ANYONE who has broken the law” is adequate. That will no longer suffice.
We are simply not seeing evidence that “ANYONE” was an accurate portrayal of what we could expect to see from the DOJ.
We’re not requesting that they reveal their active investigations, or other matters in which doing so would render their investigations impotent.
It is time, however, that we hear more than the same old tired and generic shit that we’ve heard until now.
This nation will not survive a massive wave of apathy and mental/emotional lethargy….or learned helplessness.
One antidote to learned helplessness is taking action and applying it to the area of your concern. Get busy.
Call, email and otherwise message the Department of Justice…being polite and respectful, but very firm in your demand that we hear and see more out of the DOJ regarding Trump, MAGA and the ongoing coup.
The time is now. None of us can be a passive observer and save this country. That just won’t work.
Let’s get busy. And let’s demand that others get busier than what we are seeing…or at least convey to the nation in a convincing way….that they feel the same urgency on these critical matters as we do.
BREAKING: In Iowa today, Trump described military officials as "some of the dumbest people I've ever met.” This guy cannot be let back into the White House. Our troops are some of the finest leaders in America, and everyday they sacrifice their freedom to protect ours.
Netta Epstein, just 21 🕯️
Netta, an Israeli-Canadian, was hiding with his girlfriend in a safe room in Kibbutz Kfar Aza when Hamas terrorists broke inside.
They shot him and tossed a grenade at the couple. Netta jumped on the grenade and saved his girlfriend’s life.
This young man died a hero. His memory will forever be a blessing.
