7/ Limits: no browser, no vision, no image generation. It needs a model that supports tool calls. Tested on Flint 2, Brume 2 and Beryl AX (512 MB with a USB stick). Reports from other aarch64 routers are welcome.
6/ Runs next to AdGuard Home, Tor, Transmission and vnstat, with their working data in RAM. The model runs elsewhere, through any OpenAI-compatible provider or a ChatGPT subscription.
5/ Measured on Flint 2 (eMMC, 30-minute windows, projected to a day): idle agent about 0.5 GB of writes per day, 0.05 to 0.15 GB without it. One conversation adds 2.5 to 4 MB. Life counter: 0 to 10 percent used.
4/ Release 0.21.5-r14 (2026-10-09): the agent checks that a service it started is really running, and reads package settings with secrets hidden. Full 15-check install and unlock scenario: Brume 2 15/15, Beryl AX with a USB stick 15/15, Flint 2 15/15 (after recovery).
3/ Router changes need an unlock with a PIN or an app code. The PIN message is deleted before the model sees it. A change it cannot confirm rolls back by itself in about 90 s, including after a reboot.
2/ Ask "why is the internet slow?" and it pings the gateway and the internet over IPv4 and IPv6, checks DNS, ports and errors, then answers with what it saw. Five commands in 18 to 25 s on Flint 2 and Brume 2 (measured 2026-09-25).
1/ Hermes Agent 0.21.5 running natively on an OpenWrt router (package 0.21.5-r14): a Telegram assistant that diagnoses the network, watches it quietly, and changes settings only after an unlock. Open source, MIT. https://t.co/zgPBVAlNJP

Bravo, @ElinaSvitolina🇺🇦
After making it to to #WIMBLEDON’s quarterfinals, our ambassador couldn’t hold back emotions. Not because of her win, but due to today’s missile attack on Ukraine💔
The audience supported her with an ovation. Thank you, Elina!
