I honestly don't even know why this fandom says sales don't matter. Bro, without sales there's no business, sales are the most important thing for a kpop group. When a company sees that a group has fans who buy merch, they're immediately going to want to collaborate with them, because that guarantees money. Let's talk about listeners: your group having millions of listeners doesn't mean they're all fans, there are casual listeners who don't even stan the group, don't buy anything, and don't even vote. I'd rather my favorites have loyal fans who buy merch than have 'ghost fans' who do nothing for them.
