#REPORT: 23-year-old international student Alfred Okyere was stabbed to de*th one week into his part-time job, allegedly by his 53-year-old co-worker, Troy Francis Leclair.
I think us Gen Z should ppl take part of the blame for the state of these gen alphas (2010 +). As young kids they looked up to us looking up to rappers like Juice WRLD, X, Playboi Carti, Uzi etc. And as they are in HS still making these rappers relevant, we shouldn't wonder why
But I also understand that ppl have every right to hold me accountable especially if we the same race looking for the same solutions.. fair enough... the truth is the truth and I always have respect and humility towards it. I'll continue trying
And don't put me, Dr. Umar, Ibrahim Traore, or any other African on some standard where we must be perfect in our revolution for black power... I'm not perfect bro. Honestly speaking, I still got some bunny hop in me lol, I still want to dick around (pause), procrastinate all tht
It's like, here's all the hard work, sacrifice, and trauma that my ancestors experienced and then here's me as the flag-bearer of that legacy... what else am I supposed to do other than charge it to the game?
Not only that I personally feel like it would be a disservice to my ancestors/predecessors (& might I dare add, The Almighty) if I in 2025 at my big age continue to imitate European values.
In other words it may be alright with you (and I'm fine with that) but it's not going to fit right with me bc no matter how much I even try I'll never be any thing other than an African. I can speak all the Latin languages I want, wear all the prada I want, I'll still be a nega🐂
Most of the people in this world- whether consciously or unconsciously are trying to imitate European lifestyles, European culture & cultural values. Fair enough... personally I'm not up for it because of the ancestral legacy I carry the my own personal bloodline
Cuz At some point I'm going to break silence and stop being so apologetic for my afrikanness... imma jus reach a point where I humbly say what I say in the name of truth-searching, compassion, and (racial) self-determination
At some point young black men are gonna need to come together and have a discussion about black anger. A lot of us are angry but don't have a channel for it. One day maybe I can give my younger brothers an honourable cause to channel their anger
I was today years old when I found out denim jeans had its roots in American African slavery. They called denim "negro cloth." Don't that just boil your blood 😈 or is it just me 👿
