Honestly giving up a grammy when you know you are finally going to get it after a decade and be the first kpop group to do so takes a lot. Now someone else will be the first but they will always have that asian category tied to them and know they were played by grammys racist way out - “never award asians the main award but here is a consolation price to shut you up.”

Under these new rules, a song like My Universe could be changed from pop duo/group to Asian Pop. BWL, which should’ve been…gets moved to Asian Pop. Basically to have a song stick for pop duo, it needs to be fully in English or not enough Korean to be “Asian”. Otherwise, Asian pop. This is why their stance matters. And yes, committees can change where a song is categorized.
