RELIEF IS COMING, INSHA ALLAH

Regarding the new tax collection reform introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which is scheduled to take effect in 2026:

Once the policy is fully implemented, the current 7.5% tax deducted by the government from traders who purchase food items directly from companies will be discontinued. Instead, taxation will be streamlined under the VAT system, meaning companies will no longer charge this tax to traders at the point of purchase.

This change implies that the prices of foodstuffs and basic consumer goods are expected to drop significantly, leading to much-needed relief for the general population, Insha Allah.

We must also commend President Tinubu for allowing healthy competition between Dangote and other petroleum marketers, rather than shielding monopolies. This competition has already begun to drive down the price of petrol per litre, a reduction many Nigerians are starting to notice.

If Allah spares our lives until 2026, there are strong expectations that:

A mudu of rice could return to around ₦500, and

The price of petrol per litre could fall below ₦500.

As Muslims, we firmly believe that after every hardship comes ease. A true believer never loses hope in Allah’s mercy and relief.

We pray that Allah intervenes in the affairs of President Tinubu, grants him wisdom and strength, and enables him to bring lasting relief and prosperity to Nigeria.
