The follow-up to last week's Runka Punka Go Go, here we delve further into the topic of murder songs. We'll go deeper into the history of The Knoxville Girl, as a setup for a future show about British folk revivals. But this week we'll stick to punk, hip-hop, country, pop, American folk, and whatever else makes a killing in music. On tonight's episode of Runka Punka Go Go we'll take a quick look at the charts, maybe discuss a Drake song or two, presuming he's still on the charts. The way he came in with a blast on May 15 with the release of three albums all at once, and then fell down the charts, in three weeks, makes us wonder; how real is his popularity? Then we'll burn that bridge and bridge over to movie soundtracks, past and present, with a tune from the Mike Curb Congregation. Also, the just-released film Disclosure Day has a soundtrack by the estimable John Williams, who is always worth checking out. To that we'll add suggestions and selections from the regular boys in the chorus. Similar to video games, the cinema is a place--there are fewer and fewer of these--where audiences are engaged with music outside the personalized algorithms that otherwise confines our experience and taste.

This is luxury belief dressed up as statesmanship.

Credentials are not outcomes. Intelligence is not wisdom. Integrity is not proven by elite applause. It is proven by whether ordinary Canadians can afford homes, groceries, heat, taxes, and a future.

Canada does not need more resume worship from the Laurentian class. It needs results.

If these two are so brilliant, let’s judge them by investment, productivity, living standards, public safety, energy development, and national unity.

Enough of the coronation language. Canada needs competence, not credential cosplay.
