The unprovoked attack by Iran inside Pakistan’s border is both unacceptable and condemnable, in which 2 children have been killed. Pakistan has acted with restraint whenever there’s been turbulence on the Pak-Iran border by terrorist groups, and always sought collective responses to the transnational challenge of terrorism. This needs to be understood as strategic maturity, not kinetic weakness. Secondly, such strikes erode Muslim unity at an existential moment of great need for jointly navigating forums for cooperation while the tragic and painful genocide in #Gaza at the hands of Israel continues with impunity. Thirdly,de-escalation will need Teheran to understand that violence and conflict is exactly what non-state actors and terrorists are seeking. That gives them fertile ground for metastasising. Pakistan has no stakes in fanning the flames of such conflict but will obviously have to respond if better sense does not prevail.

Can't believe this saddest of the news about the passing of Abdullah Khan Sumbal. I have known him for about two decades. He worked very closely with me as my Secretary as well as in other key field positions. I found him a thorough gentleman whose professional and personal integrity was beyond any iota of doubt. Among other things, Lahore Ring Road was one of the best achievements where he worked as a project director. His passion for reading distinguished him from the rest of his colleagues. His sad demise is not just the loss of his family but also of the country that has been deprived of a dedicated and capable civil servant. My heartfelt condolences to his family!

I am deeply grieved.

A workshop on E-FOAS, organized as per the directives of the esteemed Secretary, took place at the C&W Department. The objective of workshop was to familiarize staff with the E-FOAS system, promote a paperless environment & accomplish true digitization in every aspect.

Secretary C&W presided a review meeting on EFOAS,Pension cases Departmental Promotions& repair of residences of deceased civil servants. He instructed to ensure immediate implementation of EFOS in letter& spirit& disposal of all pending cases of promotions & pension within 15days

Considering the overwhelming public opinion for one side, there is only one inevitable outcome in the current political chaos. Everything else that is happening is just setting precedence for what happens after the change. The public is watching every bit of it and as fascism becomes normalised, nobody will come to your rescue once the roles are reversed. The elite still have an opportunity to negotiate for a seat on the table in the new system but it seems like they have chosen to dig their own grave.
