Yuuji and Yuuta have been dating for a little while now and Yuuji is jealous. Jealous of Rika. He understands how important Rika is to Yuuta, truly he does but if his ring finger is already taken what’s left for Yuuji?

Yuuta can’t help but laugh Yuuji was being impossibly adorable. Especially now pouting and frowning at him. “I didn’t know it bothered you, I can just wear it on another finger” he says and switches the two rings. Then he wipes Yuuji’s tears and presses kisses to the tear marks

“You sure you’re not trying to get in my pants” Toji mutters and Yuuji flushes and glares at him embarrassed.

Despite himself Yuuji laughs maybe he can help Toji after all.

“I can’t do this alone, their mother was the only good in my life” Toji mumbles drawing Yuuji’s attention.

“Not the only, Megumi was born from the love you two shared and tsumiki too is a part of her, she isn’t entirely gone” Yuuji says, “I’ll help, it doesn’t need to be alone”

Yuuji finds Toji passed out at the front door later that night and he heaves him inside. He wasn’t sure what to do with a man who hasn’t a will to live. Maybe he can’t just care for Megumi and tsumiki himself and protect geto San so Kenjaku doesn’t steal his body.

Toji doesn’t return so Yuuji doesn’t leave. He makes sure tsumiki has a bento for lunch and walks her to school with Megumi before going back. He finds that Megumi really isn’t all that different from when he knew him, maybe a little more hopeful.

The kids watch Toji storm out of the apartment and Yuuji comes in red spot on his face no doubt going to form into a bruise. “Ah so tsumiki Chan do you have school tomorrow?” She nods and tells Yuuji how she feels bad going to school and leaving Megumi home alone.

for Megumi before you died”. Toji is quiet he doesn’t refute him but he doesn’t acknowledge it either. “Before my grandpa died he asked one final thing of me and I guess I’m still doing it, the least you could do is what their mother asked of you”. Yuuji is promptly punched.

“I’m not sure if you haven’t noticed or you’re just stupid but I have no qualms about dying, what happens to them is no concern of mine” he says and Yuuji stares at him for a long time.
“Well if that was true you wouldn’t come home and you wouldn’t have asked Gojo sensei to care

“So whyre you here” he questions and Yuuji frowns before huffing, “I told you I tried to die but ended up here-“. Toji cuts him off and says, “no here in my place bothering me”. “Well because you die and I want to prevent that for Megumi and tsumiki”

Toji really didn’t need to hear how this kid became a vessel and his mom was a curse and he ate his brothers and became immortal like that has absolutely nothing to do with him. Toji couldn’t care less if it was true or if this guy was crazy.

And Yuuji explains everything all over again in excruciating detail that has Toji exhausted. He found very quickly this kid was a bleeding heart. Toji isn’t surprised to find out in the future he’s dead. He is surprised his son isn’t a zenin though.

“No I told you last night I-“ Yuuji cuts himself off and says, “I’ll explain later”

They eat the rest of the time quietly before Yuuji and Toji step outside to speak.
