Ashes, Silence and Gratitude!
Yesterday I attended the last rites of a dear friend at the govt crematorium near her home, which is presently managed by the Isha Foundation.
Everyone has to leave, but how gracefully one leaves is what matters. She spent her last few days in total acceptance, absolutely no fear of what was coming!
She was not just a friend. At a time when I was struggling with health issues and mentally being low, she pointed me toward Isha Yoga, a step that has had a lasting impact on me!
There were already 2 families before us performing the processes. Clean ambience of the place and just the prescribed govt fees. Simple rituals were done to her mortal remains. Her husband bowed down to Linga Bhairavi Devi photo inside and lit the camphor which was kept on cowdung cakes and dried dharba grass over her.. and then we watched her being gently sent into the furnace!
An overwhelming feeling churned within me flushing out tears, silence wrapping up the whole space - life is so brief, why are we not even aware of this!
And I left the place..
The family would wait for about 45 mins to an hour to collect the ashes. They will be performing the Kalabhairava Karma at Isha - a ritual for the deceased, done by invoking Devi’s grace within a particular time span after death.
Isha currently operates 33 such crematoriums or Kayantha Sthanams in Tamilnadu in partnership with the State Govt.
Before leaving the place, I said farewell to someone whose influence will continue accompanying me, through yoga, everyday! 🙏🏽
On this day more than two millennia ago, Gautama became the Buddha in his unrelenting pursuit to understand the nature of his existence. He demonstrated that undiluted intensity and keenness of attention will unlock every door in the Universe & enable you to realize your Ultimate Nature. -Sg #BuddhaPurnima
India and Pakistan have today worked out an understanding on stoppage of firing and military action.
India has consistently maintained a firm and uncompromising stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. It will continue to do so.

If the west thinks that it can order India to sit quiet after arming Pakistan through an IMF aid at a time when Indian civilians are under attack, then it must understand that the time of their control over India is over. This is New India. We care about the safety and security of our people more than anything else.

Terror has a shelter.
And the world knows where.
For decades,
We’ve held back for peace.
Waited for the world to call it what it is.
But this isn’t high time.
It’s long overdue.
No longer whispering warnings.
We stand united - unforgiving,
Here we end.

If my nation calls, I’ll fight. No hesitation. No fear. Enemies outside and snakes within — both will be crushed.
For Bharath, I’ll give it all. No retreat. No mercy.
