The way the girls’ manga sold out completely within an hour after they struggled to sell copies just a few months ago, hello?? So proud of them! Did things their way and were rewarded, just like Teshima-sensei wanted. Personally, if I went to a comitia or comiket, I’d buy damn near everything just to support smaller creators because you never know where the next big story will come from and maybe buying that copy will give the author the confidence needed to keep going.

It’s really cool that these festivals have editors there that will read the independent authors’ manga and potentially give them a deal. I feel like the girls might get offered here because the editor definitely likes the look of determination in Ai and Kokoro’s eyes, but I think they might end up turning it down for now so they can focus on getting better and writing their way before revisiting a publisher after high school or something. Just seems like given everything Teshima went through, they’ll try to avoid that with the girls.
