I was so happy to be asked by @yvettejaa to fill in these recipes cards for a photoshoot she was doing for her new recipe box tutorial. The final images look amazing!
@Smoken_Mirrors Aww I’ve very much in the ‘I’m never doing a festival again’ camp. (creaky knees) but pleased I’ve done Glasto twice. Once glorious weather, the other very very muddy and cold. Can’t remember much of either. Taking that as a good thing 😜
I’ve been a little bookbinding machine this week.
Here’s the last of a batch of coptic + French link bindings about to go into the press for a big ole nap over the weekend.
They are heading to @QueensHall next week and will be available to purchase from their box office.

Make this pencil box. Pre orders open! ✏️
But first, how many pencils can you fit in here with the lid closed? I’ll give you a prize if you guess correctly!

@janetedavis It’s all about getting the tension right at the beginning when you start off. I pull up and down to get it right, hard to explain. I’ll post a video in the course next time I make one!
@janetedavis So nice to hear this! I know we all strive for the perfect book but personally the crooked ones have so much more to say! Long live the crooked book! I probs shouldn’t say that as a bookbinder!
Our second week of #bookbinding with @yvettejaa and my Thursday group managed (eventually - it’s tricky) to get to grips with coptic stitch to put the signatures (pages) we made last week together.
It was my Friday group’s turn to get stitching with @yvettejaa today as we continue our #bookbinding sessions. We’re taking inspiration this term from the Lindisfarne Gospels currently on show at the @LaingArtGallery in Newcastle. #calligraphy
My Friday group completed their #bookbinding adventures with @yvettejaa today as part of our #InspiredbyLindisfarne project. Everyone was thrilled with how their A6 creations turned out. 📚
