@ABClimateAction They don't at this stage know why the man who carried out the assassination attempt did so, he may even be a Republican voter as first reports suggest. Farage is more than happy to jump on this bandwagon though, and as usual it's the BBC who provide the means for him to do it.
@andrewhesselden@Ety50037864 Brexiters keep telling us to “respect democracy “.
What would be undemocratic in holding another referendum now - 8 years after the original?
I would think this is an appropriate time to hold such a vote, now we’ve had chance to see the effects of Brexit.
🔥🔥 Excellent!
“Brexit was definitely a problem for science. We were part of a very successful European funding scheme with very large collaborations… You can’t do the type of science that everyone’s trying to do and make progress in isolation.”
Spot on.
As things stand, there is only one route to rationality/relevance for Tories: acknowledge the absurdity of Brexit; castigate Cameron for ushering it in; hang its increasingly obvious consequences around Farage’s neck & explain the demographic necessity of high(-ish) immigration.
EXCL: Labour is seeking unprecedented joint declaration with EU to usher in wide-ranging security pact covering defence, energy, climate crisis, pandemics & even illegal migration @patrickwintour

They partied , they bet on elections , they crashed the economy, they broke every public service, they destroyed integrity and honesty in public office , they paid their mates billions , they put their friends in the House of Lords, they gave their cronies knighthoods, they went into the jungle , they lied again and again, they were convicted by police, they went on holiday when they shouldn’t and they have the cheek to question Keir Starmer’s work ethic. I would never take anything for granted but I hope they are annihilated on Thursday. The worst people and government we have ever had!
P.S good afternoon all 😊❤️
Thinking about how it would be reported if the ex-president of a non-Western country was ruled immune from prosecution by a panel of judges he himself appointed
🔴BORIS JOHNSON
"A prime minister dining with his family on a Friday evening is more readily available in a crisis than a prime minister on a lads' weekend with the KGB in a castle in Perugia."

In 2017 @michaelgove invited me into Defra for a private meeting to discuss argiculture policy. He told me Brexit was good because it stopped the rise of far right parties here, like those elsewhere in Europe. As I watch the rise of ReformUK all I can say is Gove, this is on you.
This Conservative party literature designed to look like correspondence from HMRC.
It’s called deceit. It’s utterly unethical. And it’s quite possibly illegal.
Tactical voting is the only way for people to get a democratic result under FPTP. We need such a result now.
Remember: Brexit 37% of electorate
Johnson Tories: 43% of those who voted
Upcoming government: minority of electorate.
We need electoral reform.
And Rejoin.
@nickclegg I remember the coalition didn't invest in recovery, choosing "austerity" instead.
I remember a hopeless vote for a change of voting. We need a change to PR, but that vote was always bound to loose.
You could have done more in a coalition with labour, but sold out for that vote.
