وإبعاد #حمزة_ادريس عن المنتخب
وتحديداً منذ دورة الخليج في الإمارات 1994
واستمر الى مونديال 1998
وخلال تلك الفترة كان هو المهاجم الأساسي للمنتخب فـ شارك في كل المنافسات التي خاضها المنتخب
وبالعودة لسجل مشاركاته كـ مهاجم أساسي مع المنتخب في تلك الفترة 1994 ـ 1998
نجد انه لم يسجل وهو مهاجم أساسي في 8 مشاركات مع المنتخب سوى 5 أهداف فقط !!!
وكانت مشاركاته كالتالي

لعب 5 مباريات وسجل هدف واحد فقط في مرمى الإمارات !!

في تلك البطولة بتسجيله 4 اهداف

لعب #سامي 11 مباراة سجل 3 أهداف تايوان والتي انتهت 6/0 وكان #خالد_مسعد هداف التصفيات سجل 7 هدف

لعب 3 مباريات ولم يسجل خلالها اي هدف !!!

# كأس العالم 1998 في فرنسا
لعب 3 مباريات وسجل خلالها هدف واحد

#هذه الإحصائية تثبت مدى سلبية
سامي الجابر كـ مهاجم في المنتخب
ورغم هذا منح الفرصة الكاملة على حساب مهاجمين آخرين كانوا يستبعدون من المنتخب
او يلعبون احتياطيين لبعض الدقائق
ويتم فرض سامي على كل المدربين
وينقذنا دائما لاعبي خط الوسط بتسجيل الاهداف
رغم لاعبي خط وسط المنتخب يسجلون أهداف أكثر منه وهو مهاجم

# ثم غاب سامي الجابر عن المنتخب بعد مونديال 1998م
ولم يشارك في كأس العرب في قطر 1998
وهي البطولة التي شهدت تألق وعودة
#عبيد_الدوسري بعد ان حصل على الفرصة الكاملة فكان هداف البطولة بتسجيله 8 أهداف

وكان كذلك #عبيد_الدوسري هداف المنتخب في كأس الخليج الرابعة عشرة 1998
في ضل ابعاد سامي عن المنتخب .

واستمر إبعاد سامي الجابر عن المنتخب في كأس القارات 1999
حيث ان المدرب ماتشالا لم يختاره ضمن القائمة
ورغم إصابة عبيد الدوسري قبل البطولة
شهدت البطولة مولد هداف جديد للمنتخب وهو #مرزوق_العتيبي الذي كان هداف البطولة بالمشاركة مع رونالدينهو وبلانكو بتسيجله 6 اهداف

وهكذا أتاح إبعاد سامي الجابر عن المنتخب الفرصة لظهور هدافين جدد للمنتخب

لكن الأمر لم يستمر كذلك

فـ أثناء استعداد المنتخب لمباراة الإياب في الكأس الافرواسيوية عام 1999
تم استدعاء سامي الجابر للمنتخب لأول مرة بعد أكثر من سنة من اجل ان يرفع الكأس
وكان هذا امر غريب جداً !!!

فا سامي لجابر لم يتم استدعائه للمنتخب في القائمة التي شاركت في الاستعداد لـ مباراة الذهاب في جنوب افريقيا
وإثناء تلك الفترة لم يقدم سامي الجابر مستوى لكي يتم استدعائه للمنتخب مجددا
وشارك سامي الجابر في المباراة وأضاع فرصة محققة وكذلك اضاع ركلة جزاء ليخسر المنتخب البطولة !!

ورغم ذلك استمر في المنتخب ولم يتم استبعاده الى ان اعتزل

وأصبح سامي القائد منذ عام 2000
لتعود سلبيته التهديفية في كأس آسيا في لبنان
فـ لعب في تلك البطولة 6 مباريات ولم يسجل اي هدف !!
وشهدت تلك البطولة بداية نجومية
#طلال_المشعل كمهاجم كبير والذي تم استبعاده لاحقا
فسجل في البطولة 3 أهداف ليكون بذلك هداف المنتخب في البطولة بالمشاركة مع محمد الشلهوب ونواف التمياط .

( و سامي الجابر خلال تاريخه مع المنتخب والى ان اعتزل لم يسجل أهداف أكثر من زملائه في أي بطولة او تصفيه وهو مشارك مهم بنفس بنفس البطولة او التصفية )
